Born in Tanzania and bought up in Australia, Sue Macartney-Snape moved to London in 1980 where she started her successful career as an artist.
With an amazing talent for capturing characters, Sue often spends her time observing and sketching everyday life in England. These often humorous compositions are sketched out in pencil and brought to life using watercolours.
Sue Macartney –Snape has held sell out exhibitions with David Ker, Jonathan Clark and has a permanent collection of Limited Edition Prints at the Sloane Club. These have led to numerous commissions including The Metropolitan Opera and Glyndebourne.
In 2004 Sue won the Pont Award for drawing the British character and since 1994 she has illustrated The Telegraph Magazines ‘Social Stereotype’ column.
