Robert Kelsey was born in Glasgow in 1949. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art and following graduation progressed a career teaching art. During his time spent teaching Bob Kelsey also continued to paint alongside classroom work.

In 1995 Robert Kelsey decided to leave the teaching profession and become a full time artist. Since then Kelsey has had many successful art exhibitions in UK, Europe and the USA. His paintings and limited edition prints are now held in many art collections throughout the world. In 1998 he was awarded a diploma from Paisley Art Institute.

Robert Kelsey is now an established and collectable Scottish artist. His art works display a lively and fluent style of painting often inspired by the beach landscapes of the Western Isles and the landscapes of Italy, Cornwall and Spain.
