Pam Carter was born in Tanganyika in East Africa. At the age of thirteen she moved to Scotland which is the birthplace of her mother. She studied art at the Glasgow School of Art. After graduating Pam perused a teaching career before deciding to dedicate herself to painting full time. Pam Carter is now one of Scotland's best known and most successful artists.
