General FAQ

Q. What does 'unmounted price', ‘mounted price' and 'framed price' mean?

A. Most Limited Edition Prints supplied by Global Art are available Unmounted, Mounted or Framed.

1. ‘Unmounted’ is simply the print only option (I.e Just the paper).

2. ‘Mounted’ is the basic print with a quality (usually double) outer mount board, usually about 3-4 inches wide. This is then wrapped in cellophane.

3. The framed option has the print, mount board, frame and glass. We offer a variety of frames for your choice. For example frame samples please contact us.

Q. What is the difference between a limited edition print and an open edition print?

A. Open Edition Prints are never limited and can always be reproduced. As such they are not numbered.

Limited Edition Prints are limited to a number of copies and are generally signed and numbered by the artist. They can often be stamped and come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the publisher. Limited Editions are considered to be more of an investment than Open editions as when the edition has sold out no more will ever be reproduced. In general Edition numbers can range from 10 to 850.

Q. What does Giclée print mean?

A. Using some of the latest innovative printing equipment, Giclee (to spray) printing produces most of the high quality art prints that we see in the art market today. The technique involves millions of droplets per second being sprayed onto a paper or canvas to produce an image. This latest printing form allows artists and publishers to match original painting colours and composition detail better than ever before.

Q .What methods of payment are accepted for purchasing Limited Edition Prints.

A. All card payments are excepted as all transactions are processed via PayPal. We also except payments by cheque and bank transfer but will not dispatch orders until payment has been processed successfully.

Q. Are my personal details secure?

A. Yes, Global Art is committed to protecting your privacy and will only use the information that is collected about you solely for use by Global Art and it will not be sold or exchanged with third parties. Information you voluntarily supply to us will be used for the purposes of processing and delivering your print order. All card transactions are processed by Paypal which offers a fully encrypted payment service for your security.

Q .What is the returns policy at Global Art

A. Please notify Global Art as soon as possible (or at the latest within 7 working days) after receiving prints that you wish to return and your reason why. You are then given 30 days in which to return the print to us. Once the piece is safely back with us we will then refund you the full amount paid for the Limited Edition Print including postage using the same method you paid with. Please note that you will be responsible for the postage costs of returning the order. Prints must be returned in the same condition that it was sent to you and for your security we recommend you sending the print back to us using a recorded service.

Delivery FAQ

Q. What is the delivery time from order to delivery for limited edition prints?

A. All unmounted prints will be dispatched out to the UK within seven working days. For prints that need to be mounted or framed please allow 14 working days. These are guidelines and we generally ship a lot more promptly. If there are any delays with dispatch due to adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, Global Art will immediately notify you. If you require your print(s) for a specific date please contact us and we will be able to confirm whether this will be possible. Delays may occur in dispatches during the 2013/2014 Christmas and New Year period as many of our publishers will be closed until 3rd January. Any orders placed during the festive period will be dispatched as soon as possible in the New Year.

Q. How much does delivery cost?

A. Delivery to any UK address: for an unmounted art print the delivery charge is £10; for mounted prints the delivery charge is £15 and for framed prints the delivery charge is £25. All the charges include postage, packing and insurance. For delivery charges outside the UK please contact us.

Q. How well packaged are the prints?

A. At Global Art we take the utmost care when dispatching our customers orders. Unmounted prints or canvas will be carefully rolled in tissue paper and placed into a hard cardboard tube.

Mounted or framed items are wrapped in two layers of heavy duty bubble wrap with foam board in between to protect any glass that could be damaged. Then are placed into a box and taped securely. Rest assured we ship all over the world regularly.

Q. What if the art prints are damaged in transit?

A. In this unlikely event Global Art will send a replacement art print or alternatively a full refund will be made. All packaging material should be retained for inspection by the art courier.

Q. How are prints shipped?

A. In general all prints from Global Art Prints are shipped with UPS as we find they are very reliable. When prints are shipped we issue you a tracking number so you can track your print on the UPS Website.
