Limited Edition Prints and Collectable Art Prints from Global Art Prints
Print Artist: Francis Farmar
Francis Farmar was born in Surrey in 1948 and began painting at an early age. He won the Eton College School Drawing Prize and later studied in Florence at Simi's Academy. He also attended St Martins's School of Art and the West of England College of Art, graduating in 1971.
Francis Farmar produces art prints in the vogue of traditional panoramic landscape painting, to which is added his own distinctive vision of life which captures and encapsulates the joy, life and spirit of a place. Francis Farmar’s landscapes are a modern development of the bird’s eye panoramas that have been a feature of earlier English paintings. Francis lives in a quiet corner of Wiltshire where he draws inspiration from the landscape of rolling downs, woods, coasts, farms and fields close to his home. His nostalgic limited edition prints of the English countryside and seaside have found an enthusiastic audience.
Francis Farmar makes frequent visits abroad, not only to Europe where Italy, Spain and France are favourite haunts, but also further afield to U.S.A, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia, India and Australia. Wherever he goes Francis attempts to capture the season and atmosphere of each place in his limited edition prints.
