About the artist: Carole Baker
Limited Edition Prints and Collectable Art Prints from Global Art Prints
Artist: Carole Baker
Carole Baker was born in Lichfield in 1965. She trained as a Graphic Designer and then had her own business in design and marketing for a number of years.
In 2004 Carole Baker was selected as finalist in a ‘New Artist’ competition and her art works were shown at the NEC in Birmingham. As a result, a selection of her paintings were produced as limited edition prints and sold widely in a number of UK art galleries. In 2007 Carole Baker decided to become a full time professional artist and attended Matthew Boulton College and later studied at Lichfield School of Art. The following year she was elected a Full Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RSBA).
Carole Baker’s art prints are inspired by the British landscape. Her limited edition prints demonstrate her strong interest and fascination in bold, vibrant colours. Many of Carole’s art works are highly textured which she uses to great effect in creating moody and atmospheric pieces.
Carole Baker travels extensively in the UK and abroad where she sketches prolifically the landscapes which feature in her art prints. She sees the use of sketches and photographs taken on location as a starting point for art prints. Often she will revisit an area and take a completely different approach to a previous art work. Carole creates limited edition prints which communicate how she feels about a subject as opposed to copying literally.
