Andrew Macara inspiration and initial ideas for his painting come from his travels around the world but his hometown of Derbyshire always features heavily in his winter compositions.

He is mainly a self taught artist but briefly studied contemporary modern British art at the St Ives School of Painting. Known as one of Britain’s most successful painters Andrew Macara became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1981 and is also a member of the New English Art Club, which also includes artists such as Ken Howard, David Cobley and Charles Hardaker. His works are also sought after by collectors from around the world.
