Print Artist: Adam Barsby

Adam Barsby was born in Leicester in 1969. He studied art at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Maidstone and graduated with a First Class Honours Degree. After leaving art college in 1992 Adam Barsby worked on several freelance projects for Art Galleries and magazines whilst developing his own style of art work.

In 1996 Adam Barbsy decided to become a full time professional artist producing paintings on a full time basis. Since then Adam has exhibited at many prestigious UK art galleries and produced a highly successful range of limited editions prints and original silkscreen prints. Inspiration for his paintings and limited edition prints comes from many sources with oceans and coastlines being particularly favourites. He creates a unique view of the world with simplified stylised images using rich colours, texture and thought provoking narratives.

Adam Barsby has been the recipient of a number of art awarrds including: the John Solomon Trophy for Best Selling artist of 1998 and 'Best Up And Coming Artist' for 1999 by the Fine Art Trade Guild. Speaking about his new limited editions prints Adam Barsby says: "There is a tranquillity in my pictures which stems from a combination of inherent simplicity and lyrical narrative."
